Fern Lulham has her own business in motivational speaking and speech coaching and she is also a freelance radio broadcaster. She has spoken at several Government-backed Disability Confident events, at the Women Leaders 2019 event in the QE2 Centre, London and at the Aniridia Network UK Conference, 2018.

Fern attended Helenswood School in Hastings, now Ark Alexandra Academy and went on to study Communication at Western Carolina University USA where she managed a radio station and later worked at a commercial radio station in Michigan. She currently reports on BBC Radio 4’s In Touch programme and broadcasts on AMI Radio in Canada.

Being registered blind, Fern has encountered many challenges and uses her gift as a speaker to inspire and motivate others to overcome disadvantages to reach their full potential. She is particularly keen to bring her message to young people. Fern is loyally supported by her adorable guide dog, Nancy.
