Talented Year 12 artist Biddy Davies' competition submission.
Friday 19 March 2021
In Biddy's words:
This is my entry to the ‘Looking Out From Lockdown’ art competition with Villiers Park. The competition involves taking your own interpretation of what that phrase means to you, whether that’s feeling trapped or isolated, or whether it's feeling hopeful for the vaccinated future, and translating that through the artistic medium of your choice. First prize is a Bespoke picture framing of the winning piece by TPF Studio and second prize is two books of your choice from Introducing Books. There is also a “People’s Choice” prize for the piece of work which gets the most likes on Villier’s Park’s Instagram feed.
My first thought when I think about lockdown and coronavirus, is its affect on many people’s mental health. In self isolation, I felt trapped, as I couldn’t go out and see my loved ones or enjoy much of the outside world, much like that of a poor bird who’s freedom has been robbed as it lives in a locked cage.
Please head over to the Instagram post and like it to support my entry. It's at https://www.instagram.com/p/CMjrL72sUjE/.
Thank you :)
