Ark Alexandra Transition Programme 7th to 25th June

You will be able to study 5 subjects and in the week preceding the 25th June, you will have a 1-to-1 conversation to discuss your next steps. This is a highly valuable opportunity to try a range of courses to strengthen your understanding of the A level courses you wish to pursue and your decision making around your choices.

Also, during the transition, you will enjoy a range of career related events, team building activities and sessions to develop your study skills in preparation for your post 16 courses. The purpose of the transition programme is to set you up with the skills to be successful in the next stage of your education, inspire you to study your chosen subjects, and introduce you to the rich opportunities Ark Alexandra has to offer.

Special events:

  • 17th June University Challenge: Year 12 versus Year 13
  • 24th June The big debate: ‘The pandemic has made the exam system redundant and so should be abolished’
  • 25th June Celebration BBQ

    16-19 Tuition Fund

Ark Alexandra Academy will use the funding received through the 16-19 Tuition Fund to provide small group and 1 to 1 tuition to students who haven’t achieved a grade 4 in either or both English and Maths. Within this cohort particular attention will be given to those students with SEND and those who are eligible for the 16-19 bursary fund.

Tuition will be provided in addition to their standard programmes of study and will continue virtually during a period of lockdown or closure of bubbles. IT facilities where necessary will be provided to enable this to happen. In addition printed materials where necessary and applicable will be provided.

The impact of funding and tuition will be analysed against student outcomes in the 2021 exam series.
