Commitment to achievement
“Parental involvement in a child’s schooling up to the age of 16 is a powerful force which is strongly linked to educational achievement” (Department for Education).
Parents who support the school will set their children up for success. Conversely, those parents who undermine the school are more likely to see their child’s behaviour escalate as children become confused that the school and parents are not in lockstep.
Parents are expected to:
1. Send their child to school every day, on time, fully equipped and in accordance with the uniform policy.
2. Ensure their children always attend interventions as required.
3. Take an active role in the life of the school by attending events, parent evenings, meetings and celebratory occasions.
4. Role model professional relationships by ensuring all contact with the school is courteous and respectful
5. Communicate with the school via the form on the Contact page on the web site.
6. Take additional steps at home to protect their children from mobile phones and social media addiction.
Parent voice
Parents and carers are an integral part of our school community, and your feedback forms an essential part of our ongoing development and improvement. We regularly run parent information evenings, parent forums, open evenings and create surveys to gather your views on the education your child is receiving, and to understand where we can do better.
You can share your feedback via these channels:
- Ofsted's Parent View tool. This survey consists of 12 short questions around topics such as teaching and behaviour, and will feed into our ongoing development plan
- Via our contact form
- The main school office
Academic Review Days
This is your opportunity to discuss your child's progress with their teachers, check their well-being with their Head of Year and have a conversation with Leadership about their future.
Academic Review Days are designed to get the best out of your time for the progress of your child, so they reach their goals and realise their ambitions.
