Clara (Year 13) performed two of her original songs before Harley (Year 9) then played a couple of solo jazz piano numbers. The stage was then set for our Year 7/8 Choir (led by Miss Thompson) to perform ‘In the name of love’ – with some excellent solo moments. To finish, the choir were joined by our School Band to perform ‘Beggin’ and ‘Believer’.
It was great to have such a supportive crowd (every single performer had somebody there in attendance) and to see our students perform with such confidence and enjoyment – well done! The CEO of the De Le Warr was very impressed with our offering and following a really positive conversation with him we hope to collaborate with the venue again in the future for further performances and trips.
As ever, our thanks go to ‘Create Music’ for giving us this performance opportunity (which was very well-organised I have to say!) and for all the fantastic work they do with our young people in their instrumental/vocal lessons + additional clubs.
