Ark Alexandra Academy students and siblings Ida-May and Arthur have reached the pinnacle of their tumbling season, both returning home as British champions after outstanding performances at the British Gymnastics Inter Regional Challenge Cup Final.
The talented pair travelled to Birmingham's Utilita Arena to represent the South East region against the very best tumblers from across the United Kingdom, including teams from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Having both enjoyed success at the recent English Championships, they arrived determined to finish the season on a high.
For Ida-May, the competition marked the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance. Having narrowly missed out on the top spot in previous years with consecutive silver medals, she delivered three flawless tumbling runs to secure the gold medal and the title of British Champion.
Arthur also produced a remarkable performance. Following his bronze medal success at the English Championships, he knew the competition would be fierce. After a strong opening tumble, he produced an outstanding second run that propelled him into first place, a position he held through to the end of the competition to claim his own gold medal and British title.
Competing on one of the biggest stages in British gymnastics, both athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, determination and composure under pressure.
Their achievements are a testament to the countless hours of training, dedication and resilience they have shown throughout the season.
Everyone at Ark Alexandra Academy congratulates Ida-May and Arthur on their incredible success and on becoming British Champions.
