Ark Alexandra Academy’s Year 7 boys’ and girls’ football teams travelled to London to compete in this year’s ARK Football Championships, with both teams producing impressive performances throughout the competition.
Both teams represented the academy brilliantly, demonstrating excellent teamwork, communication, determination and footballing ability. Following a strong series of group-stage performances, both the boys and girls progressed to the knockout rounds, where they each secured victories in their respective semi-finals to reach the championship finals.
The Year 7 girls produced a superb performance in their final, competing strongly against tough opposition. Despite a determined display, they narrowly missed out on the trophy, finishing as deserving runners-up.
The boys continued their excellent form in the final, producing another outstanding team performance to secure victory and be crowned Year 7 ARK Football Champions.
Mr Maclean praised the students for their approach throughout the competition:
“Every student involved should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Their attitude, resilience and support for one another were exceptional throughout the competition and reflected the very best of our school.”
The academy would like to congratulate every student who represented Ark Alexandra at the championships, with a special congratulations to the Year 7 boys on their fantastic achievement in becoming ARK Football Champions.
