Last week, a selected group of cadets participated in a 24-hour overnight training exercise, joining forces with students from Eastbourne College. Staff from both Ark Alexandra and Eastbourne College collaborated to deliver a programme of tailored and challenging activities.
The exercise began with cadets setting up their overnight accommodation, fully aware that temperatures would drop significantly. After preparing and eating their evening rations, they engaged in weapon handling revision and practiced snap ambush drills under the cover of darkness.
The following morning, cadets rotated through a series of training stations, including emergency battlefield first aid, navigation, harbour drills, and further snap ambush scenarios—this time with the opportunity to fire blank rounds.
This was another fantastic opportunity for our cadets to train alongside the highly experienced Eastbourne College contingent. It also gave them a chance to showcase the confidence and skills they developed during the summer camp in July.
