Students from Ark Alexandra Academy have delivered a series of strong performances on the court in a busy week of basketball fixtures, showcasing skill, determination and teamwork across multiple year groups.
On Friday 20th March, the Year 11 team travelled to face St Richard’s Catholic College in a fast-paced and high-scoring match. Despite finishing second against a strong and well-organised side, the team impressed with their resilience, ball-handling and teamwork throughout. Special recognition goes to Ellis, Neave, Oli and Alfie, who stepped up to represent the team with confidence.
Earlier this week, both Year 7 and Year 8 teams travelled to The St Leonards Academy for a double fixture.
The Year 7 team produced a dominant display, securing an emphatic 14–0 victory, demonstrating excellent communication, defensive organisation and energy from start to finish.
Meanwhile, the Year 8 team competed in a closely contested match, narrowly losing 8–6 in a game that remained competitive throughout.
Across all fixtures, students showed outstanding effort and attitude, with several players representing the school in their first ever basketball matches.
Staff praised the teams for their commitment and sportsmanship, highlighting the continued growth and promise within the school’s basketball programme.
