Last week at the final parade before end of training dismissal, there was a promotion ceremony held on the parade ground. This is where the cadets who had completed phase one training, CFIT training or had demonstrated leadership skills received their promotions. Seven cadets were identified for the next cadre of CFIT.
Nine cadets were made up to the rank of Corporal and fourteen to Lance Corporal. This for many is the first run of the promotion ladder and an opportunity to develop their leadership and people skills. Five students had completed their CFIT training after 5 months of training and support from the cadet training team sergeant, which means they are now able to lead section training to the other cadets. The event showed the younger cadets what it will take to become a Lance Corporal and the responsibilities this role will give.
With 100 cadets in uniform this year the officers and staff will be looking for our next cadet leaders and those who can be promoted in the next round of promotions.
