Ark Alexandra’s young table tennis players enjoyed an excellent weekend at the East Sussex Individual Table Tennis Finals, with four U13 boys representing the school and producing performances to be proud of.
The standout achievement came from Liam, who progressed all the way to the final undefeated. Displaying consistency, focus and skill throughout the competition, Liam went on to secure a fantastic silver medal at county level. Dylan and Milo were both drawn against highly ranked players, but rose to the challenge with strong and determined performances in their group matches. Finlay, who has only recently begun competing outside of school, also impressed by winning some excellent points and gaining valuable experience against tough opposition.
This success builds on another outstanding result from December, when Liam, Dylan, Milo and Finlay all competed in the U13 Boys East Sussex Schools Finals. Their impressive performances there earned them qualification for the Regional Finals, which will take place on Saturday 7th February. We wish the boys the very best of luck as they represent Ark Alexandra at the next stage of the competition.
These students are leading by example when it comes to table tennis at Ark Alexandra and are helping to inspire others to get involved in the sport. For students interested in playing, our extra-curricular table tennis club takes place at Helenswood on Wednesdays during the Spring Term.
In addition, an external club delivers table tennis sessions for all abilities outside of school hours at William Parker on Wednesdays from 6pm to 9pm. Please contact James Gorridge at Simply Table Tennis if you are interested. simplytabletennis@gmail.com 07717 698112
