Twenty-eight students from Ark Alexandra Academy enjoyed an unforgettable adventure during the Easter holidays as they travelled to Alpendorf for the annual school ski trip.
Arriving to a picturesque scene of falling snow and unusually chilly April temperatures, students were quickly immersed in the alpine experience. After being fitted with ski boots and settling into their guest house, an early night prepared them for an exciting week on the slopes.
From the very first morning, students took to the mountains in ability groups. Beginners learned the fundamentals of skiing with expert instructors, while more experienced skiers confidently navigated the slopes, building on their existing skills.
Throughout the week, students showed fantastic resilience and determination, progressing steadily despite the mix of weather conditions—from snow and cloud to bursts of sunshine. By the end of the trip, many had achieved the milestone of using chair lifts and skiing higher up the mountain, a testament to their hard work and perseverance.
Evenings were just as action-packed, with a range of activities including swimming, bowling, and sledging, leaving little time to rest but plenty of opportunity to bond and create lasting memories.
The trip not only helped students develop new skills but also fostered new friendships and a sense of independence. They returned home with a huge sense of achievement and excitement for future adventures.
