Having set up the cadets in 2019 with just 15 students, then quickly going into Covid, the cadets at Ark Alexandra now boasts over 100 students in uniform on a regular basis. On Wednesday this week we welcomed Brigadier Anthony Lamb MBE supported by Captain Mohankumar from the Cadet Training Team who held our Biennial Inspection. This was an inspection set up to examine our policies and procedures, check equipment and resources, speak with the Principal and students, and then interview the cadets staff and officers. Brigadier Lamb then carried out a formal inspection of the cadets while on parade and had an opportunity to briefly speak to them. It was an honour to have such a high ranking officer come to the academy to carry out the inspection and for many cadets the first time they had seen a Brigadier, or spoken to one.
The inspection finished with the senior cadets leading training activities where they could demonstrate their learning and teaching skills. We now await the written report which will highlight the fantastic achievements the cadets have made and reflect the efforts and time given by a great team of cadet staff and officers in ensuring the cadets get the best possible experience.
