At Ark Alexandra Academy we pride ourselves in the extensive range of exciting trips and experiences that we offer our students. We encourage our students to explore different cultures in a respectful, immersive and informative manner. Whether this be a cultural, academic or sporting trip. We place trips high on the Personal Development agenda.
The Academy has already built a strong reputation for the trips that we have on offer. We have travelled across Europe, visiting Poland, France, Spain and Germany. We have an annual ski trip to Austria. Cadets have regular off-site activities from shooting weekends through to annual summer camps. The Duke of Edinburgh programme runs expedition weekends within Kent and Sussex for Bronze and Silver, and Dartmoor for Gold participants.
As part of our Personal Development curriculum, we take EVERY student on at least one trip per academic year. These are to various locations, some locally to visit the community we live in, some have a careers focus, where students visit places of employment or to universities, and other trips may have a curriculum focus, where departments plan trips which enrich their curricula. We regularly visit the theatres in Hastings, Tunbridge Wells, London and beyond, and have created links with dance companies within London, where students visit, have workshops and perform. Together we have explored the vast range of attractions, museums and galleries in London, and kayaked, abseiled and rock-climbed at a range of activity centres across the country.
We offer a range of sports trips from local to national competitions and visits to venues and stadiums.
