Ark Alexandra Academy's Year 8 boys football team made a winning start to their National Cup campaign, securing a deserved 1-0 away victory against Dover Grammar School for Boys in the first round.
The decisive moment came during the first half when Bexley produced an excellent finish to put Ark Alexandra ahead and give the team a lead they would never relinquish.
The boys showed tremendous resilience, determination and teamwork throughout the match, particularly in the second half as Dover pushed for an equaliser.
Defenders Louie and Benji were outstanding at the back, making a number of crucial interventions to protect the lead. Behind them, Arthur delivered several important saves, demonstrating excellent composure and shot-stopping ability to preserve a well-earned clean sheet.
Across the pitch, the midfielders and attackers worked tirelessly, winning the ball back, supporting the defence and creating further opportunities to extend the advantage.
It was a fantastic team performance from start to finish and a result that reflected the hard work, commitment and character shown by the squad.
