Ark Alexandra Academy is celebrating outstanding success at this year’s Town Sports Athletics event, with students achieving more than 50 medals across the different year groups and securing the title of Overall Town Sports Champions.
Competing against schools from across the area, Ark Alexandra athletes demonstrated determination, teamwork and sporting excellence throughout the competition.
The academy achieved first or second place in every age-group category, with particularly strong performances across both the boys’ and girls’ competitions:
- Year 7 Boys – 1st Place
- Year 7 Girls – 2nd Place
- Year 8 Boys – 1st Place
- Year 8 Girls – 1st Place
- Year 9 Boys – 1st Place
- Year 9 Girls – 1st Place
- Year 10 Boys – 1st Place
- Year 10 Girls – 2nd Place
There were also a number of impressive individual performances. Benji secured gold in the 1500m, while Spencer took gold in the 800m and Aiden won gold in the 1500m. Sonny also claimed gold in the 100m, while the Year 9 girls produced an exceptional team performance, winning 10 gold medals collectively.
The overall success reflects the commitment and hard work of students both in training and on competition day. Every athlete played an important role, whether contributing medals, earning valuable points for their team or supporting their teammates throughout the event.
To finish as Overall Town Sports Champions and return with more than 50 medals is a significant achievement for Ark Alexandra’s athletics programme.
The academy would like to congratulate all of its athletes and thank the staff who supported and prepared students for the competition.
With such a strong start to the year, Ark Alexandra will be looking to build on this success as its students continue to compete across the sporting calendar.
