We were met with sunshine and snow, and once we had been fitted for our equipment we made our way to the lovely mountain guesthouse.
Greeted by cows, goats and the biggest Newfoundland dog we all settled in and unpacked.
The first day went smoothly with all the students getting up and ready in their ski gear for a much needed breakfast and travel to the Gondola. After a 15-minute ride, we arrived at the top of the mountain where we were greeted with more snow and the week of skiing began.
All of the students from the beginners to the intermediates excelled with their skiing and progressed from day to day, which then at the end of the week leads to the downhill races for all the students.
Following the races was a presentation, and awards were given to all the schools that are there over the week. A large number of Ark students stood on the podium in either 3rd, 2nd or 1st place.
Erin Graham won her group race and also now holds the student Snowslippers record for the downhill race, a massive achievement.
In the evenings, the students went to a lovely swimming/spa complex and enjoyed the slides and a bit of relaxation. We also went to a traditional Austrian bowling alley, sledging, shopping and enjoyed a quiz night at the guest house.
Coming home tired but fulfilled with a new skill achieved, we hope the students had a fantastic time.
The next trip will be in April 2026 and a letter will be out soon with more details. Deposits will be due beginning of June and will be around £320 (TBC).
