This week has been very busy for our netball squads. On Monday, a mixed Year 7/8 team ventured out to The Hastings Academy for a friendly fixture to gain gameplay experience. Through teamwork, passion and determination, we finished with a 25–0 score to win the game.
On Tuesday, the Year 7 and 8 squads were out once again, playing in separate friendly games against Claverham Community College. The teams knew they would have to work hard and push their skills to the limit. After four gruelling 10-minute quarters, our Year 7s came out victorious with a final score of 11–4, with Spencer, Ella and Alexandra really shining throughout the game. Unfortunately, our Year 8s finished with a loss of 11–7, but they played a very strong game and pushed through until the end.
Finally, on Wednesday, our Year 9 team travelled to Claverham Community College to play in the Area Tournament. After six tough games, we came out with four wins – putting us in joint first with two other schools. After going to goal difference to determine the overall winner, we walked away with second place. Our girls worked their hardest, playing all their games back-to-back. We would like to give a particular shout-out to Kitty, Sabah, Ida-May and Alyssa for their amazing drive and dedication throughout.
Miss Dawkins and Miss Lovell are proud of every single person involved over this busy netball period. Well done and thank you for working so hard. Keep smashing it!
