Remembrance Service at Ark Alexandra Academy
On Tuesday, Ark Alexandra Academy came together to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. The service, led by Reverend Toby Lancaster, was a moving occasion that brought our school community together in reflection. Our wonderful cadets led the proceedings with pride, marching and laying wreaths to pay tribute to the fallen.
As the haunting notes of Miss Clark’s Last Post lingered in the air, we stood together in silence for two minutes, remembering those who gave their lives for our tomorrow. Their sacrifice was poignantly captured in the words:
“When you go home,
Tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow,
We gave our today.”
This year, for the first time, we live-streamed the event, allowing students, parents and carers, community partners, and our Ark primary academies to join us remotely. The recording is available on our website for anyone who wishes to watch.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, both in person and virtually, and to all who have generously supported the Poppy Appeal. Your participation and support helped make this a truly special occasion of remembrance and unity.
We will remember them.
