Year 7 and 8 boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from Ark Alexandra Academy travelled to London Thunder to proudly represent the school at the Ark Basketball Championships, marking an exciting milestone for many of the students involved.
For a large number of players, this was their first experience of competitive basketball. Despite this, they rose to the occasion with impressive maturity, enthusiasm and determination. Across the day, students showed clear progress in their skills, resilience under pressure and outstanding teamwork, embodying the values of the academy both on and off the court.
The teams faced each challenge with positivity and respect, supporting one another and demonstrating a genuine willingness to learn and improve. Their conduct and commitment were a credit to the academy and a reflection of the hard work taking place in school sport.
Staff expressed immense pride in how every student represented Ark Alexandra Academy, making the day not only a sporting success but also a valuable learning experience.
The academy extends its thanks to London Thunder for hosting such an inspiring and well-organised event and looks forward to building on this success in future competitions.
