Brother and sister duo Ida-May and Arthur, students at Ark Alexandra Academy, have achieved outstanding success on the national stage after competing at the English Tumbling Championships. Both qualified to compete against 18 of the best tumblers from clubs across England, earning their places at one of the country's most prestigious gymnastics competitions.
Ida-May delivered an exceptional performance to claim the gold medal and be crowned English Champion. In a sport where medals are often decided by the narrowest of margins, her victory was particularly impressive, winning by a remarkable 1.6 points — a significant gap in a discipline where just 0.01 points can separate competitors.
Arthur also produced an outstanding performance, securing a bronze medal in a highly competitive field. His achievement was made even more remarkable by the fact that he had been unable to train fully in the lead-up to the championships due to a foot injury.
Both students demonstrated tremendous dedication, resilience and determination to compete at such a high level and represent themselves, their clubs and the academy with distinction.
Their achievements are a testament to the hard work they have invested in their sport and serve as an inspiration to other young athletes across the school community.
Congratulations to Ida-May and Arthur on their fantastic success at the English Tumbling Championships. Everyone at Ark Alexandra Academy is incredibly proud of their achievements.
A special thank you to Ida-May and Arthur’s mum for sharing this fantastic achievement with us. We love celebrating the successes of our students both in and out of school!
