Students from Ark Alexandra Academy delivered an outstanding performance at the Sussex Sportshall Athletics Finals in Bognor, representing not only their school but the Hastings & Rother district alongside two other schools.
Competing against nine districts from across Sussex, students took part in a wide range of indoor track and field events, specially adapted for the sportshall environment. The competition tested speed, strength, agility, and teamwork across multiple disciplines.
The Year 7 boys achieved an incredible result, finishing 1st overall in Sussex. Despite winning only two track events, their dominance in the field events proved decisive, securing top scores across nearly all disciplines. As a team-based competition where points are accumulated across events, this result highlights the boys’ all-round athletic ability and strong team performance.
The winning team, Benji, Arthur, Bexley, Gideon, Oscar, and Leo, demonstrated determination, versatility, and excellent teamwork throughout the competition.
The Year 8 girls Amelia, Rose, Natalia, Lola, Ruby, Izabella and Tera also delivered a strong performance, finishing an impressive 4th overall in Sussex, showcasing both skill and resilience against tough competition.
This success reflects the strength of athletics at Ark Alexandra Academy and the dedication of students to represent their school and district with pride. Their achievements mark an exciting step forward, with great promise for future competitions.
