They actively participated in both Session 1 (Design Thinking and Pitch Preparation) and Session 2 (Programming Challenges and Pitch Delivery), gaining invaluable insights and skills throughout the day.
The hackathon’s focus on designing environmentally conscious applications was both relevant and inspiring for the students. They eagerly engaged in brainstorming, developing solutions, and crafting pitches for innovative app ideas aimed at encouraging better environmental decisions. This process challenged them to think critically about real-world issues and devise practical, creative solutions.
Their maturity and professionalism throughout the day were remarkable. In Session 1, they worked collaboratively to identify environmental challenges and thoughtfully planned app designs, including detailed flowcharts, pseudocode, and visual mock-ups. During Session 2, they tackled programming challenges with determination, showcasing resilience and problem-solving skills.
The highlight of the day was their presentation. The confidence, clarity, and teamwork they displayed during their pitch were truly commendable. They articulated their ideas eloquently and responded thoughtfully during the Q&A with industry professionals, earning praise for their innovation and effort.

Even though we had to leave the event before it finished, the students did not only enjoyed themselves but came away with a deeper appreciation for how their skills can be applied to address real-world problems.
