Year 7 athletes from Ark Alexandra Academy delivered an outstanding performance at the recent area Sportshall Athletics competition, showcasing energy, determination and exceptional teamwork throughout the event.
Competing against five local schools, students took part in a wide range of events including speed bounce, standing triple jump and four-lap races, demonstrating both their athletic ability and competitive spirit.
Every member of the team gave their all, contributing to a fantastic overall result for the school. The girls’ team produced a superb performance, finishing in second place overall and only narrowly missing out on the top spot.
Meanwhile, the boys’ team dominated the competition, securing a well-deserved first place finish. Their victory means they now progress to the county final in Bognor Regis, where they will represent the area against the best teams in the county.
The competition highlighted the strength of sporting talent within the year group, with students supporting one another and competing with pride and enthusiasm.
Staff praised the athletes for their commitment and attitude, both on and off the track, making the school incredibly proud.
With such a strong showing indoors, attention now turns to the upcoming outdoor athletics season, where these talented young athletes will look to build on their success.
