Three talented athletes from Ark Alexandra Academy with HY Athletics Club proudly represented their county at the prestigious English Schools Cross Country Championships, held last weekend at Sefton Park in Liverpool.
Widely regarded as one of the most important events in the school athletics calendar, the championships bring together only the very best runners from across the country. Qualification alone is a significant achievement, requiring outstanding performances at county level.
Competing against the nation’s top young athletes, Ark Alexandra’s runners rose to the challenge with determination and resilience.
In the Junior Girls race, Tera B placed 198th, while Amelia S achieved an impressive 165th place in a highly competitive field. In the Intermediate Girls category, Florence T secured 170th place, demonstrating great perseverance on a demanding course.
For some of the athletes, this marked their first experience competing at this elite level, making their achievements even more commendable.
The English Schools Championships are often considered the pinnacle of school-age cross country, and to take part is a significant honour. All three athletes represented their school with pride, showcasing commitment, effort and a passion for the sport.
